Therapeutic-endoscopy

GI Endoscopy
Gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy is a procedure that examines your digestive tract using a flexible endoscopic tube with a tiny camera attached to it. This camera is connected to an eyepiece or a monitor for viewing.
GI endoscopy enables the diagnosis of various gastrointestinal diseases. It also helps in treating certain diseases by cauterizing any bleeding and removing polyps. It also allows tissue samples to be taken to perform analysis and biopsies.
A GI endoscopy is performed to diagnose and treat symptoms like stomach pain, vomiting, indigestion, ulcers, tumors, bleeding, difficulty in swallowing, and chest pain.

Fibroscan

Fibroscan
This is special scan to assess the severity of the liver damage in liver conditions like fatty liver, hepatitis and alcohol related liver damage. Takes about 10 minutes and is a painless procedure.

icon_Urease-breath-test

Urease breath test
This is used to test for a bacteria (H. Pylori) in the stomach that can cause gastric acidity and ulcers, without the need of endoscopy/biopsy. It is done with breath analysis

icon_Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy is a procedure in which the large intestine and the colon are examined. The examination is carried out by using an endoscopic instrument known as a colonoscope. The instrument is a long thin tube with a tiny camera attached to it. During colonoscopy your doctor can diagnose and treat diseases like ulcers, abnormal growths, inflamed tissues and so on, without the need for a major operation.

icon_ERCP

ERCP
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a medical procedure that combines x-rays and upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy to treat diseases and disorders of the bile and pancreatic ducts. Used to clear jaundice due to obstruction and removal of stones in the bile carrying tubes, without surgery.
How is ERCP performed?
• The procedure can be performed at an outpatient center or hospital. It usually lasts between 1 to 2 hours. A sedative is given through an intravenous needle which is placed in your arm. The sedative will keep you relaxed during the procedure and will not feel any pain. You will be given a liquid anesthetic to gargle or spray at the back of your throat. This numbs the throat and prevents gagging as the procedure is performed. We do not use general anaesthesia.
• Usually it is done as a day care procedure.

Endoscopic procedures for weight loss without surgery
Intra gastric balloon is the commonest endoscopic procedure for this indication. It involves endoscopic placement of a balloon in the stomach, temporarily for about 6 months to help lose weight. It is done as a day care procedure with light sedation usually.

Endoscopic Ultrasound
This is essentially similar to endoscopy but in addition has an ultrasound facility at the tip of the scope. This is done with light sedation, so that the patient does not feel any pain or discomfort. The procedure may take between 10 to 30 minutes. It is done to accurately evaluate any diseases of the digestive system. It also helps the doctor to take sample from the tissues (FNAC-Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) thus avoiding surgery/radiation-prone procedures like CT scan.

icon_Capsule-endoscopy

Capsule endoscopy
This procedure to evaluate digestive system especially small intestine. This involves just swallowing a capsule- same size as a normal tablet. So, doesn’t have to put any endoscope through the mouth, hence no pain or discomfort. The capsule will capture all the video of the intestine and record on a device placed next to the patient. Capsule will be expelled via anal route with the stools.

Before reaching Livwell, I had been having weeks of medication from many doctors but was not getting any improvement and had severe bloating, gas, back pain and what not. . Finally I consulted Dr in the Livwell and he took enough time to collect all my details and give me specific instructions and also gave right medicine. My stomach issues and back pain went away and i am perfectly fine now.

It was a moment of succour for me when I met Dr. Gopal, S.T. I was having deodenal pollip and had to get it removed. The calm, gentle and a man with golden hands fixed it through endoscopy providing relief from what would otherwise have been a complicated surgery. I had absolutely no after effects nor complaints. The follow up visits were delightful because of Dr. Gopal’ great human qualities. He brought smile on my lips as well as the family. I strongly recommend him to others who need similar help.
