What is fatty liver?
When you have too much fat in liver. This happens when you accumulate too much of triglycerides ( a type of lipids) in your liver.
What cause fatty liver?
- Excess of alcohol
- Over weight
- Lack of exercise
- Smoking
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- High Cholesterol
- Polycystic ovary
- Hepatitis B & C
- Drugs
What effects it will have on liver?
It can progress in some cases over a period of time, in stages, to cirrhosis.
What are the symptoms?
Fatty liver does not cause any symptoms in early stages. If it progresses to liver cirrhosis, it may cause jaundice, stomach pain, swelling of the belly.
Can it be cured?
It can be reversed, depending on the stage, with appropriate diet, lifestyle and medicines.
